I've had the incredible privilege of photographing over 200 couples within my first year going full-time! Yeah, you read that right! This has been my greatest form of growth and storytelling!
From the vintage Vegas vibe to the breathtaking landscapes across the country, I've chased sunsets and love stories, bringing my camera along for the ride. So if you're looking for a blend of heartfelt and adventurous moments, let's make some art and create frame-worthy memories!
Mandisa and Matthew’s Jupiter Hotel Portland, Oregon wedding was one where we just flowed with how the day unfolded. It was very documentary and a little editorial. They were surrounded by their closest friends and family, and you could truly feel the love in the room! It was a rainy day in Portland (no surprise there), which made things feel even more intimate and cozy!
Getting ready at The Jupiter Hotel felt relaxed and meaningful. Mandisa wore a modern off-the-shoulder gown that showed off her floral tattoos in the best way, and her bouquet by Party Poppy PDX was full of fresh greenery and soft white blooms. Her entire look felt classic. There was so much emotion during her first look with her parents—teary eyes, deep breaths, and a few quiet moments that said more than words could. Matthew kept his look classic too in a black suit and tie!
Mandisa and Matthew’s Jupiter Hotel Portland, Oregon wedding ceremony felt so intimate and warm. The space itself was simple and modern—concrete walls, soft draping, and rows of black chairs lined with white florals—but it was the energy that made it unforgettable! From the moment Matthew walked with his mom down the aisle to the way he looked at Mandisa as she entered with her dad, you could feel how much this moment meant. Their vows had everyone crying (including them).
While guests mingled over cocktails, Matthew and Mandisa made the most of the Jupiter Hotel’s interiors for their newlywed portraits. We wandered into Hey Love Bar for a change of pace—moody lighting, lush greenery, and a chance for the two of them to soak in that just married feeling!!
This part of the day gave us the perfect opportunity to mix styles. Between laid-back candid’s and a few more editorial shots, their gallery is full of range. If you’ve ever wondered whether you can have both documentary-style coverage and those striking, editorial portraits—the answer is absolutely yes!
This Jupiter Hotel Portland, Oregon wedding reception felt like such an effortless continuation of the day—chic and cozy all at once. The space was filled with candlelight, gorgeous florals, and a tablescape that felt elevated without being too much. And I also have to mention their croquembouche tower! Guests were welcomed in with drinks and a killer dinner menu. The energy stayed high from the moment the couple made their entrance (cocktail in hand, of course).
One of my favorite parts of the night was when Mandisa and Matthew snuck away for a quick outfit change. There was something so intimate about watching him help her into her reception dress—just the two of them, taking it all in before the party kicked back up. We used flash for those portraits, mixing in a little more of those editorial shots into their gallery.
It’s always my goal to strike a balance between documentary moments and something a little more stylized. I think their gallery is a perfect example of how you can absolutely have both!
